You can either sort the value cards into the three categories, or label three envelopes and sort the values into the envelopes, but the important thing is to carefully consider what each value means to you before assigning it to a chosen category.
And, of course, it should go without saying, the more honest you are, the more you'll get from the exercise. There's no time limit on this ... I originally did this kind of exercise in high school, and again in my late twenties, and again just recently. It was interesting to see how the priorities in my life have shifted as I've aged. Some of it's definitely down to getting older, but it was also satisfying to see how some of the changes come from getting wiser as well.
