Series 5 / Class 2 ~ Background, thinking about life and events

Two last little items for this class ...

First, two more pages of handouts about life events. I created this handout from a BuzzFeed article. I felt the article was worth sharing, but I wanted to abbreviate it so we could put it in our journals. When you're working through *your* life background, don't underestimate the importance of these events:

And one last thing ... when I was a teenager, I heard an interview with someone about they'd put their life plans in perspective by considering their life in months instead of years, since months are a time period we can all easily wrap our heads around. I think at the time I heard the interview I even sat down and wrote myself what I thought of as "my perfect curriculum" ... how I'd set aside a number of months for each creative endeavour I wanted to learn: 1 month for candle-making, 6 months to learn French, 3 months for weaving ... well, I never said it was a *realistic* plan, but I was quite young. Now that I'm much further along the path, I still think looking at your life in months can be very useful ~ the older you get, the less you want to spend time doing things that aren't meaningful to you.

And then, fancy that, I stumbled across a chart that very usefully lets you graph out your life in months. I'm not posting it so you'll be depressed about the time you have left (honest), but to help you value your time and do the things you love to do that are important:

And on that cheery note ... look forward to seeing you next time!
