April ~ a peek in Penelope's Journal this month

Here are all the pages I've created in my journal this month for the class:

Background: scraped paint (iridescent blue green) plus stencilled on silver blue. Added a quote from handout sheet (see them all below at the bottom of this post). Sun and rays drawn with caran D'ache Neocolor IIs, plus I added rub-on letters to spell believe and stamped border on the horizon line.

Graph paper in the middle of the page with map-themed washi tape around the edges. Rubber stamped clouds + painted paper leaves glued on with drawn on details. Water-soluble crayon sky and hill with added dots done with a sharpie to add texture.

Letters cut from magazine, drawn boxes and handles to make them look like signs, painted with water-soluble crayon.

background coloured with water-soluble crayon. Handwritten letters done with black China marker, stenciled letters done with plastic stencil and sharpie. Top and bottom edge with flame-themed washi tape. Extra depth around the letters is created by painting around the stenciled letters with red water-soluble crayon. The stenciled letters have been made to look white with a white China marker.

Since the sharpie lettering from the page above bled through onto this plage, I covered the whole page with scrapbooking papers, using the sunflower head as a focal point. Notice how I kept them all in a limited colour range (green/yellow/black). Then I added the quotes from the handouts. Some just glued in as they were on the sheet, some handwritten, in various styles.

And here are the quotes from the last page of the handouts:
