| Testing out the new favrourite toy: Koh-i-Nor Magic Pencils |
Basket-weave squares + gesso + colour added using water-soluble crayons and a few quotes from page 7 of the handouts. Notice the quote on leaves grows UP from the bottom. This page isn't finished. I will likely add some writing at some point. |
| Scraped paint + gesso wash + stenciling with gesso + text. |
Stencilled clouds (orange acrylic paint) + stenciling using two of my favourite stencils + a quote from the handouts |
I redrew the bird from the "33 moments" article to fill the whole page and then put some new text in the balloon. The bird was drawn with a China Marker then painted with water-soluble crayons using my fingers. Since China Markers are NOT water-soluble, there's no smudging when I added the colour. |
And here are some of the backgrounds I've been making
that you can print out for yourself and use in your journals:
| Scraped with Lemon Yellow, stencilled alphabet with teal, then scraped over very thinly with the same teal. |
Photocopy of basket-weave squares, colour added with water-soluble crayons. Stencil in the top right corner was wiped away with wet paper towel. Stencil in the lower left corner was added with water-soluble crayons. |
Photocopy of basket-weave diagonals, scraped with Cadmium Yellow acrylic paint Stencil added with Light Green acrylic paint |
Lightly scraped with Lemon Yellow acrylic paint, then stencilled with magenta and teal using one of my favrourite stencil combinations at the moment. Notice how I only use a part of the stencil, and move it around to vary the angles. |
Cerulean Blue and Purple acrylic paint scraped + gesso wash (unevenly applied for effect) + stencilling with gesso (more opaque than white acrylic paint, also more interesting texture). |
