Want to get away from the bland black and white? Here are some tips:
- Print onto coloured copy paper (standard colours at stationery stores are: pink, blue, green, yellow, etc.)
- Print onto scrapbooking paper. There are literally thousands and thousands of patterns to choose from. The sheets usually come 12"x 12", but some are sold in 8.5"x11", or you can cut them to size yourself (see examples below).
- Print onto plain white paper and then scrape acrylic paint across the whole sheet randomly. I recommend staying with light colours that are adjacent to each other on the colour wheel so the contrast isn't too drastic, but follow you heart where colour is concerned. I've done one as an example below.
- Paint or colour each quote differently according to your mood, or the page you want to put it on. You can use watercolour paints (not too much water!), felt pens, pencil crayons, water soluble crayons or markers or any other colour medium you're familiar with.
Now, here are the examples! Feel free to print out these colour versions if you have a colour printer.

A bit on the boring side maybe, but an example of the kind of patterns available in scrapbooking patterned paper.

One thing to watch out for ... strong patterns that make the text unreadable - oops!

Ah, that's better! A pattern that doesn't overwhelm the content!
However you decide to collect and use quotes in your journal, don't forget to make them beautiful - to you!
