Turn to the first page in your journal …
- Create a self-portrait using images from magazines, felt pens, pencil crayons and washi tape.
- Resist the urge to look for faces that “look like you”. Build your face out of objects and textures, or even bits of different faces you find.
- Your finished collage doesn’t have to look like you NOW ~ think of it as your other self, your past self, your future self, your child self, etc.
- Cover as much of the whole page as you can.
Once your collage self is complete … find positive words in magazines or write out words as follows:
- Who you’d like to be, qualities you aspire to
- Compliments people have paid you (even if you didn't believe them)
- Attributes of you at your best
- Strengths you have that have helped you through difficult times
Feel free to create a face in whatever way comes to you, but if you're stuck, here's a template:
